Overhead Proof Lights provide good quality lighting in critical areas

Where you need good quality illumination for viewing press sheets or proofs, these White Screen Overhead Proof Lights will provide an economical solution. Models are available in a range of sizes, and are ideal for placing over the outfeed of a press, or over an inspection table.

Models are available with symmetric illumination which would be placed directly overhead. Also, available are asymmetric versions for use with a sloping inspection table, and would be placed above and slightly behind the observer. For very large press sheets, asymmetric wall lights are available.

For graphic arts applications, units are normally supplied with D50 tubes (colour temperature of 5,000K), and produce an illumination level of approx. 1,500 Lux. For other applications, lights can be supplied with D65 tubes, (colour temperature of 6,500K).

When fitted with D50 tubes, the light source conforms to ISO 3664:2000. However, to get the best viewing conditions, you must select a unit which is sufficiently large to cover the whole of your viewing area, and make sure that the surrounds and background are neutral grey, so they don't influence your judgment.

Symmetric Overhead Proof Lights - Symmetric illumination is ideal for placing over the press outfeed for viewing press sheets, or over a flat inspection table.

The range of sizes provides coverage of areas from 60 x 40 cm, up to 180 x 100 cm. Smaller units have a slimline 10 cm profile, while the larger ones have 16 cm profile to achieve even illumination over the larger areas.

In the mid-range, the slimline Model 30.113 (as illustrated) is a popular unit, with illumination covering an area of approx. 100 x 50 cm, enough for SRA1 or SRA2 press sheets.

All units come complete with 3 meter hanging chains and 2 meter electrical cable. They also have a built-in hour meter.

Asymmetric Overhead Proof Lights - When it is necessary to view the whole of a proof or press sheet in detail, particularly for larger sheets, it is generally better to have a sloping work bench. In these circumstances, Asymmetric Overhead Proof Lights provide better illumination.

The range of sizes provides coverage for larger areas than the the symmetric ones. Popular units are Model 30.005 with an illumination area of approx. 100 x 50 cm, and Model 30.002 covering an area of approx. 140 x 70 cm. Other models are available covering areas up to 140 x 130 cm.

All units have a 16 cm profile to achieve even illumination the asymmetric lighting, and come complete with 3 meter hanging chains and 2 meter electrical cable. They also incorporate a built-in hour meter.

Asymmetric Overhead Proof Lights for Wall Lighting - For very large press sheets, wall mounting may be the best method for viewing. This range of units is so designed, with very asymmetric lighting, so when mounted above, they illuminate a vertical wall.

The range of sizes provides coverage of areas from 120 x 150 cm, up to a massive 260 x 130 cm.

All units have a 16 cm profile to achieve even illumination the asymmetric lighting, and come complete with 3 meter hanging chains and 2 meter electrical cable. They also incorporate a built-in hour meter.

When it is necessary to view the whole of a proof or press sheet in detail, particularly for larger sheets, it is generally better to have a sloping work bench. In these circumstances, Asymmetric Overhead Proof Lights provide better illumination.
